The Leasing Foundation ‘New Blood’ Asset Finance Journalism Internship is intended to start a wave of professional journalists working to keep the world informed, educated and aware of the financing landscape.
The internship is funded by Roger Skinner, CEO of Maxxia UK Limited, and supported by the Leasing Foundation.
The Leasing Foundation recognises that quality journalism – in print or online, in industry magazines, broadsheets, independent blogs or using social media – is a key ingredient of a vibrant and well-functioning industry. The aim of the Internship – open to current or very recently graduated journalism students – is to support modern, online, data-driven, meticulously-researched, insight-based and impactful journalism in leasing and asset finance.
Peter Thomas, Foundation COO, says: “Leasing360 provides a platform for industry specialists to develop new insights and publish them, and now the New Blood Asset Finance Journalism Internship will help to create a new wave of young, technology-oriented, well-informed and ethical journalists who will create stories about the industry that will be read by global audiences beyond the industry itself. The New Blood intern will be supported by the Foundation through access to the leading experts in leasing and asset finance around the world and with the support of experienced trade journalists at Leasing Life. The internship provides an unparalleled opportunity for aspiring financial journalists to learn directly from the experts, write stories that inform and educate about the leasing and asset finance landscape and so help accurately frame public and political debate”.
Roger Skinner, Maxxia’s CEO, says “The Maxxia business approach is based on transparency, collaboration, trust and building real relationships. I want to ensure that these values, and the great contribution that the leasing and asset finance industry can and does make to supporting economic growth, is reported accurately, intelligently and with real purpose so that all businesses and communities gain a greater understanding of the role that the industry plays. The New Blood Internship is our way of doing that.”
