Second phase of Redefining The Leasing Industry research study released

LEASING FOUNDATION RELEASES SECOND PHASE OF ‘REDEFINING THE LEASING INDUSTRY’ STUDY

The Leasing Foundation has released the second phase of the Redefining The Leasing Industry research study prepared for the Foundation by IAA-Advisory. The first phase of the research was published in 2014.

The study concentrates on and brings together the large number of financial products which, although not called leasing, are in fact leases or have a very strong link to leasing.

Based on the study, it is evident that the leasing industry is two to three times the size of the size reported in official statistics by the various Leasing Associations throughout the World.

The Leasing Foundation believes that a dialog should take place amongst the various Associations to decide on a method of encompassing all these products into the official statistics.

The size and complexity of the industry is important to all industrial countries and new investment in machinery, equipment and transport is vital to all industrial nations.

Recognition of the vital importance of the industry is not yet appreciated by many governments, and the Leasing Foundation believes that this should be a unifying message across members of the industry.
