Taking care of mental health in the workplace is the theme of a vintage tea event the Leasing Foundation is holding in the City of London in May to put this often-ignored issue at the top of the business agenda.
Working in conjunction with Shire Leasing and Lombard/RBS, the Foundation is bringing together high-profile speakers – including Julian Hobbs, UK CEO for Commercial Finance at Siemens Financial Services – along with a panel discussion and a delicious Time to Talk vintage tea.
The event takes place on 16 May from 5pm to 7pm at the Lombard/Royal Bank of Scotland offices, 250 Bishopsgate in London, during Mental Health Awareness Week.
There’ll be an opportunity for networking after the event which will address whether organisations within financial services make it easy enough for employees to discuss a mental health challenges they might be experiencing. With 1 in 6 employees experiencing depression, anxiety or stress, time will also be devoted to looking at what helps aid good mental health.
“We all have mental health, whether it’s good or bad” says Helen Lumb, Chief Financial Officer for Shire Leasing and key organiser. “It’s vital that employers take on a more active role in normalising the issue and supporting their employees who may be suffering from poor mental health.
“We have speakers at this event who have had mental health issues who are keen to share their experiences to try and destigmatise this topic and bring it out of the shadows. Shire Leasing is an ardent supporter of the Time to Change campaign and is delighted to be working with other businesses within the Leasing Foundation to raise awareness around mental health.”
Tickets for this free event can be obtained from Eventbrite – but hurry as numbers are limited for what promises to be an informative and enlightening early evening event.
