LEASING FOUNDATION DONATES £25,000 to Queen Square Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases
Long-running support by the Foundation for Dr. Katie Sidle’s research into Motor Neurone Disease (MND) resulted in donations of over £25,000 last year to The Queen Square Centre for Neuromuscular Diseases in London. The funds were raised at Foundation events including annual conferences, the Davies Lecture and through sales of the ‘ME&MND’ book of photographs.
Professor Peter Thomas, Foundation COO says “We are delighted that we have been able to encourage the leasing industry to be so generous in support of Katie’s work, and we intend to continue looking for ways to support the work of the Queen Square Centre into MND – a devastating disease that leaves sufferers locked into a failing body, unable to move, speak or eat normally, is always fatal and is diagnosed in 140,000 people worldwide each year”.
The funding from the Foundation supports laboratory studies and the salaries of postdoctoral researchers.
