Next week the Leasing Foundation is hosting a session on mindfulness – as part of a four part series looking at the positive impact certain things have on our mental health. ‘Kindness’ was covered last month and we have ‘gratitude’ and ‘connection’ to come over the next couple of months.
Mindfulness is a way of paying attention to the present moment, using techniques like meditation, breathing and yoga and a study by the University of Oxford in 2013, found that those who completed the Be Mindful online course after one month had a 58% reduction in anxiety levels, a 57% reduction in depression and a 40% reduction in stress.
The session, which will take place in conjunction with the Finance & Leasing Association, will include a short video and presentation, before moving into a discussion and an opportunity for people to share their experiences (including the benefits) of using mindfulness.
