About this event
Our next Innovation Initiative workshop – Innovating Together: The Power of Collaborative Problem Solving – will take place on Tuesday 18 July, 3pm – 6pm at the MasterCard Innovation Hub (London E1 8EW).
The event will be hosted by Bea Schofield, senior manager, innovation and strategy, Lloyds Banking Group and Sam Dring, head of asset finance products, Lloyds Banking Group. We will also be joined by special guest Stuart Laws, deputy head of innovation at the UK Ministry of Defence, who will provide insight on how the MOD uses collaborative innovation methods, including cross-sector challenges, to support the UK prosperity agenda.
The agenda for the afternoon:
- 15:00 – 15:30: Registration and Introduction from the Leasing Foundation and Mastercard
- 15:30 – 16:00: Overview of why innovation and collaborative thinking is important (hosted by Bea Schofield)
- 16:00 – 17:00: Breakout activity to testing our approach on industry specific issues.
- 17:00 – 18:00: Session with Stuart Laws
- 18:00 – Networking and drinks
Our guest speakers:
Stuart Laws is an assistant head within the Defence Innovation Directorate, responsible for the delivery of cross-sector innovation challenges, and the lead for the Ideas Management for Defence Strategy. Outside of defence, Stuart is the founding director of Idea Shadow Coaching Ltd, and the chair of IdeasUK, a not-for-profit community interest company.
Bea Schofield is a senior innovation manager at Lloyds Bank Group and formerly director of customer innovation at Wazoku. Bea works with organisations to build innovation capabilities and increase innovation success. She is a specialist in crowdsourced innovation, putting important problems out to internal or external crowds to capture, evaluate, and implement ideas and solutions.
