The Leasing Foundation announced today that it is kicking off its Sustainability Initiative with a virtual event that will help businesses and individuals in the asset finance industry enhance sustainability and accelerate environmental improvements.
Taking place on Wednesday 22 November at 12pm, the session is entitled ‘Landing transformative, purpose-led change for a more sustainable future’ and will feature guest speakers Dr Sally Uren OBE, chief executive of Forum for the Future and chief executive of Solar Energy UK, Chris Hewett. Sally will share her experiences of developing transformative change strategies for leading businesses, and Chris will provide an update on how businesses could be both impacted by and support solar deployment ambitions for 2035.
The Leasing Foundation’s Sustainability Initiative aims to deliver quarterly webinars for those working in the finance industry designed to inform, educate and accelerate improved sustainability, as well as sharing knowledge and experience through a resource library. The sector has the unique opportunity to improve both its own performance and that of its customers through enabling investment in assets that will deliver environmental gains.
Julie Henehan, Leasing Foundation Sustainability Initiative board director and corporate development director at Shire Leasing said: “We’ve been in full-on planning mode for a number of months and are now excited to be officially launching the Leasing Foundation Sustainability Initiative. By leveraging our industry networks and spheres of influence, our goal is to support improved sustainability through education, innovation and the sharing of best practice across the industry. Our event on 22 November will bring you leading experts from the world of sustainability and the green asset sector to share knowledge and inspire positive change. Please do join us!”
